WHILE everyone else was in bed recovering from the night before members of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth Association (AMYA) Oldham kicked off their new year by cleaning the streets of Oldham Town Centre.
On the morning of the New Year day, members of the group took to the streets with bin bags and litter picks in hand to fulfill their civic and religious duties.
The litter-picking by AMYA is designed to instil community spirit within youngsters. Following on from a successful campaign last year the youth took on this initiative and invited local residents.
