MEANOCK (James) Eric Born 9th November 1931. Died 10 January 2023 of Springfield Lane Royton. Eric Meanock was formerly Treasurer of the Crompton and Royton Golf Club and the Crompton and Royton Rotary Club. He did a lot of good work in the Community including a prominent roll in the prevention of a Quarry being reopened in a residential area of Thornham. Indeed the battle ended up in a victory in the High Court in 1999. This notice has been placed by a group of his neighbours and friends who are disappointed they did not have the normal opportunity to say farewell to him at a public funeral or cremation. We give thanks for his life and wish him well on his journey to the next life. We have donated, as a mark of our deep respect, a ShelterBox (including a tent, tools and emergency materials) dedicated in his name to help with the terrible difficulties currently being experienced in places like Ukraine, Turkey and Syria.
