A judge has dismissed a harassment charge against a man on the day the trial was due to begin.

Raja Miah had been charged with harassment without violence against a woman, which related to a series of online posts which were alleged to be aimed at a woman between October 2020 and November 2021, in July last year.

The 50-year-old had been charged with harassment and a two-day trial was set to begin yesterday (May 2) at Manchester Magistrates' Court.

However, the court office at Manchester and Salford Magistrates' Court confirmed that case had been thrown out.

Miah, of Stamford Road, Mossley, had denied the charge.
