Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) confirmed to The Oldham Times that the teams were called out but determined the substance was not harmful.

A spokesperson for Yodel also confirmed the incident involved a "small leakage of toilet cleaner" from a parcel on one of its trailers.

Yodel added: "Emergency services attended our service centre at Stakehill Industrial Estate this morning to carry out precautionary checks.

"Our health and safety team followed protocols, no one was harmed, and the site is operating as normal.”

The fire service also said: “Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus assessed the substance and deemed it was not harmful before handing the site back to the owners.

"Crews were in attendance for around two hours.”
