A 13-year-old boy died at the Royal Oldham Hospital this morning, Monday, after reports of a "medical emergency".
Greater Manchester Police (GMP), as well as paramedics from North West Ambulance Service, were called to Pilkington Street, Middleton, shortly after 10am to attend to a teenager who was rushed to hospital.
The boy later died in hospital and the force is currently not treating the death as suspicious.
A spokesperson for the police added: "Police were called to reports of a medical emergency at an address on Pilkington Street in Middleton at around 10.08am this morning (February 12).
"Despite the best efforts of emergency services personnel, a 13-year-old boy sadly died at Royal Oldham Hospital.
"Enquiries have been conducted and there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding his death. A file will be prepared for the coroner."
