A Royton road was closed in both directions as firefighters battled a blaze which broke out in a car.
The emergency services were called to Rochdale Road at around 1pm on Sunday (September 3).
The Royton road, outside the Co-Op supermarket, was closed in both directions as firefighters battled a blaze which broke out in a car. The cause is unknown at this time but there were no injuries.
It reopened within the hour although it took longer to clear the car and the damage to the carriageway.
A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service said: "Before 1pm firefighters were called to attend a car fire on the junction between Middleton and Rochdale roads in Royton.
"A fire engine from Chadderton fire station attended the scene and used a hose reel and two breathing apparatus to extinguish the fire. Firefighters were in attendance for approximately 50 minutes."
