Firefighters were called out to the scene of a vehicle fire on Friday on a narrow country lane in Royton.
Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue (GMFRS) were called out on Friday (September 30) morning at approximately 9.25am after receiving multiple reports of a car on fire on Oozewood Road, leading up to Tandle Hill.
One crew from Chadderton attended to battle the blaze and they were at the scene for just over 10 minutes.
Firefighters used a hose real and some breathing apparatus to extinguish the flames before ensuring the surrounding area was safe.
Photographs of the scene reveal the black Vauxhall Corsa was found alight on a narrow country lane.
Members of the public said on social media that they had been concerned about the fire's proximity to the field, which had horses and sheep.
Images also show the Corsa was significantly damaged by the fire.
A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) said: “At around 9:25am on Friday, 30 September, we received a number of reports about a vehicle fire on Oozewood Road, Royton.
“One crew from Chadderton was quickly in attendance, and firefighters used one hose reel and a breathing apparatus to extinguish the flames and make the area safe.
"They were at the scene for just over 10 minutes.”
Greater Manchester Police have also been approached for comment.
