Fire crews battle blaze at mechanic's workshop
FIREFIGHTERS from all of Oldham stations were needed to tackle a blaze at a mechanic's garage in the early hours of this morning (Thursday, March 19).
Crews cut their way into the workshop on Dunkerley Street, off Greenacres Road, at 1.30am to find a car on a ramp a blaze.
The teams from Oldham, Hollins, Chadderton, Mossley and Blackley managed to restrict the damage to the car and the skylight of the building.
An investigation team was visiting the site today to try to establish the cause of the fire, but it it believed it may have been a mechanical fault on the car.
No-one was injured.
